After several years of doing small fixes to the teeth, it was finally time to fix them. We have been maintaining this wonderful patient for the past 14-years, and this year we decided it was time to take a step forward with the smile, and repair the damaged and aging enamel with a set of veneers for the upper teeth.
If the teeth have damage from years of chipping, old restorations, and discoloration, then, veneers may be the best option for getting your smile back.
It is very common before veneers to have tried a number of different treatments. Some of those include composite fillings, and in this case (2) veneers on the centrals (teeth #8 and #9). But, over time, the teeth and some restorations can change shade and may not match as well as they should.
The most esthetic treatment that can be done to finish a smile is a set of porcelain veneers. It is not uncommon for people to wait many years with teeth that they do not like before finally deciding that they (the person) is worth it. I cannot count the number of times a mature adult has told me they have always hated their smile, and wished there was something they could do. This patient is so happy to finally have a smile that she feels great about, and we celebrate with her.
